Beth Naylor Historic Clothing Collection
Community: Russell

The Beth Naylor Historic Clothing Collection opens a window to the past and into the lives of the people who lived there. It is a history that visitors will be able to relate to on a personal level—brought to life through authentic period clothing and accessories.
Miss Naylor began collecting clothing in the late 1930s when she was given a black dress by Mrs. John McMillan the wife of a local bag-pipe player. Since then the collection has grown to some 600 pieces; 30 of these date from the 1800s, all lovingly restored by Beth Naylor herself.
We are fortunate to have such a marvelous collection available to present to the public on occasion, for more information please call Patti at 204-821-0456.
We have taken the initiative to display pieces of the collection at various places throughout the Asessippi Parkland area. Look for displays at:
- Travel & Visitor Information Centre (Russell)
- Binscarth Museum
- Inglis Elevators National Heritage Site
- RM of Riding Mt. West – Angusville Office
- Russell & District Library
- Russell Heritage Church
Displays are changed regularly to keep them interesting and to preserve the pieces. Some of the displays are at seasonal locations so please check hours of operation.
